RSI’s Gas Saving Tip of the day:  Under $2.50…Can you remember the last time diesel fuel cost less than $2.50 a gallon?  In a single year we’ve seen $4 + prices per gallon, and now, less than half of that amount at local stations.

RSI’s Gas Saving Tip of the day:    Despite lower fuel prices, analysts say it’s still  wise time to change driving habits (habits that use less fuel that is).  The inauguration is just a few months away and with it comes unknown economic changes, and perhaps known ones as well.  OPEC prices are expected to go up - if only because there’s only so much the price per barrel will drop (it’s starting to sound like physics!)   Lower diesel prices though are no reason to relax and not worry.  Better to adopt driving habits that are resourceful and frugal at heart to prevent a systematic shock when prices start to creep up again.

RSI’s Gas Saving Tip of the day:  5 months seems like a long time ago - at least looking at it from a pump perspective.  According to California’s energy almanac, gas prices continue to fall throughout the state.   Just five months ago - fuel prices hit a record high of $4.588.  Today - you can find diesel for less than $2.50.

RSI’s Gas Saving Tip of the day:     Save gas money by - staying out of the East?  Well, not really as diesel prices are dropping all over the country.  However, the EIA reports that the U.S. average price for diesel fuel fell below $3 a gallon for the first time since September 17 of last year, decreasing 14.4 cents to 294.4 cents per gallon. Prices continued to fall across the Nation and dropped below the $3 mark in all regions - except the East Coast. But - that doesn’t mean it won’t happen!

RSI’s Gas Saving Tip of the day:    Southern Californians (specifically the city of Chula Vista) are using a blend of biodiesel and ester that combined - will reduce fuel emissions from garbage trucks. Trash for thought?  Garbage trucks will use the biodiesel/ester concoction, which is made from 80 percent diesel and a 20 percent mix of biodiesel and Ethos Fuel Reformulator named B20 Ethos.

RSI’s Gas Saving Tip of the day:  Where in the world are you?  Now - UC Berkeley can help.  The bay area university is now offering free downloads of a software program that work on phones equipped with a global positioning system.  The project has been coined the Mobile Millennium. What does it do?  It provides real time traffic updates, commute times, and alternate routes.
